Summary
She had been fighting her nauseatingly stubborn attraction to him ever since her vision of him killing Kinbott had ruined
everythingtheir kiss. She’d thought she was finally over it. Over the years, they had settled into an uncomfortable (in the good way) enmity, keeping their distance most of the time, circling and watching each other only to strike out occasionally, like a beautifully violent tango. Their game was too invigorating to end it.But then he went and killed for her.

Summary
“Hey. Come on, Wednesday. Wednesday!” He ushered her in front of him, urging her along. “We can lose them in the cro—”
She heard a crack and whirled back around in time to watch Tyler go down like a rock. Behind him, the bully whom she’d kicked in the face at the Weathervane stood in wide-eyed surprise, bat loose in his grip now and staring at the downed boy as if he hadn’t expected to actually land a hit.

Summary
“I’m upset because he assumes that all you keep me around for is sex, and once you’ve had enough you’d drop me like a hot potato! He has the gall to assume that you’d be that shallow; hell he presumes to know what we are to each other when he clearly doesn’t! It’s none of his business anyway! And all that when you’re not even interested—”
“Who says I’m not interested?” she cut through his rant.

Summary
He immediately retreated until his back hit one of the trees growing at the edge of the clearing, eyes darting around for an escape, but she was already right in front of him. He growled again.
“Oh stop this nonsense! I’m not scared of you, and you have no reason to be scared of me.” She stared up into his face. His bulging eyes were a bit ridiculous, but he almost looked... cute. How sickening.

Summary
When the song ended, she slowly walked backwards, towards the edge of the forest, then raised one eyebrow in challenge before she turned and ran. She knew without looking that he was right behind her, could feel the thrill of being hunted as he followed her into the woods, deeper and deeper, and she let free a whoop of laughter that was echoed by a playful growl. He chased after her, clearly holding back, not willing to end their game yet.

Summary
His eyes widened as realization hit. “Oh fuck,” he breathed. “Fuck! No no no no no!”
He stood abruptly, almost sending his chair crashing to the floor as he started pacing around the room. “Oh god, this can’t be happening! Not now!”
Wednesday stared at him wide-eyed. “What? What’s happening? Tyler!”
He stopped in his tracks and stared back at her with a mixture of embarrassment and shame. “I...” he swallowed. “I’ve been run ragged these past few days; I’ve had extra shifts at the Weathervane and been studying like crazy for my chem and precalculus tests, so I forgot to take them, and I wanted to take them this morning but then I overslept so I was running late—”
“Tyler!” she interrupted, “Take what?”
