“Tell your daddy to stop being so silly please?” MJ mutters into Jane’s ear who crinkles her face up in confusion. Before MJ can explain, Jackson holds his hands up, though his eyes are still starting to glimmer with a mischief that she’s seen reflected in their daughter’s eyes too often.

Beside her, Flash twists. She doesn't need to look at him to know he's staring. MJ can feel the weight of his eyes on her, studying her carefully, gauging for any sort of reaction. There's nothing odd about calling a repairman when something is broken. No reason for any sort of concern.
"Things still awkward between you two then?"
MJ debates feigning ignorance.
"No." She says pointedly, eyes still closed and facing the sky. "I just didn't want to bother him. He's been busy, or don't you remember how exhausted your teachers were by the end of the year?"
