Summary
During the course of an interrogation gone wrong, Resh decides to run. This poor life choice ends with him as an inmate instead of as a servant at the prison. Now at the mercy of Prince Marcus' sadistic tendencies, the only question Resh asks himself is if he will survive the time remaining in his contract.
That is, until Carr arrives.
Convicted of theft, Carr is dragged kicking and screaming into the prison, determined to protect a secret that could have horrible consequences if discovered.
To protect themselves, Carr and Resh will need to work together. However, life on the streets has been kind to neither, and Carr has a million and one barriers to break through to even consider something like trusting another person.
This is a completed arc with a happy end.

Summary
Resh travels north with Carr and his sister, hoping to leave the events of the past behind him and make a new life for himself. Somewhere. Anywhere. Even if it means he has to cross the border out of human lands. But with the evidence of his abuse marring his body and permanently damaging his voice, his past is not so easy to forget.
Neither is Carr's; her past traumas have shaped her in ways many find offputting. Can Resh and Carr find a way to make their fledgling relationship work, or will their pasts tear them apart before they get the chance?
