Sasara didn’t always stay over. But they had been drinking more often recently and making it back to his hotel room seemed like too much effort. Plus, with the way the alcohol made Samatoki’s usually pale skin flush up around his eyes and ears, the way he just had a smile plastered on his beautiful face, it was a lot easier to plead drunkenness and just wrap his arms around Samatoki’s shoulders.

Samatoki loved taking showers. It was the only time when the world seemed to stop and he was free to melt into the comfortable heat of the water. As the water ran down his back, he felt recent cuts and bruises flare up in pain, but with a small hiss through his teeth he dismissed it and leaned further in. The water washed over his face, and he closed his eyes softly. The steam formed a thick layer of safety over him and the rest of the space. Now, this feeling reminded him of something else-

Never in his life had someone made him feel safe. Sasara was always there, to do anything. No matter what he needed, somehow Sasara was always there, ready to give it to him. He was smart and cunning and funny, despite those terrible puns. He was strong, too. A lot stronger than he looked. Both physically, and emotionally. Samatoki just wanted to melt into the warmth of Sasara’s arms, his comfortable safety.
