Summary
Roy wanted to take things slow. Like, a glacier shifting across the continent slow. Jamie had never moved so slowly in his life. Usually, he saw somebody fit, or somebody fit saw him, and things happened very quickly. But this wasn’t a pull in a club. This wasn’t jacuzzi sex. This wasn’t even the fumbling earnestness of his relationship with Keeley. This was something different. Something that was intended to be real. Something that could last. Not happily ever after because that was fairy-tale princess bullshit, but something that might be ever after at least. A little extra care, a little extra patience wouldn’t be a bad idea.

It was hard to believe it had been twelve years since Jamie Tartt exploded into his life, and they were together for just two of those years. Only on speaking terms for five of those years. One-tenth of Roy’s entire life. That was nothing. There were pants that had been a part of Roy’s life for longer than that. He lived a whole lifetime before Jamie, he had an entire existence after Jamie, and yet, those five years was the span of time Roy could remember with the most clarity. The memories he relived the most.
