It doesn’t take long for Annabeth to find her way to the place it all began. The local apothecary’s shop. So well known in the small isolated town that it doesn’t even have a name, just a simple weathered sign of a bundle of herbs. The locals probably call it something, but Annabeth doesn’t know enough of the town’s people to know what that is. She stands outside the door, for once hesitant to step inside a room.
Not for fear of the people inside, no, she hasn’t feared any human in centuries. And not for fear of the circumstances even, though she isn’t a fan of them regardless. She stands hesitant for fear of what she shall experience. For it is something she has not felt since the days she thought herself above the world and its people –millenia ago. Ages since she has let herself get close to anyone else enough to feel their passing in anything other than the impact of their loss in her work.
