“Nothing,” he lies, badly. “Just making sure I get you home okay,” Hailey has a sense that that isn’t all he said but letting it go.
She slips her hand into his, Miles relaxing as she does.
It wasn’t that important anyway.
They were finally on a date.

Summary
The ache in his chest pulls at him, in a way that feels suffocating as Peter closes his eyes and tries hard not to think of how Harry had looked at him in the seconds before he–
Not died– he’s alive, Miles brought him back but it’s different now, worse than it had been when he was in “Europe” for a treatment plan that neither he nor MJ knew about.
Now, Peter knows exactly where Harry is and what his days look like, knows the full extent of his injuries and the lack of brain activity that if Norman Obsorn were a gentler man, might have let Harry go.
Peter exhales, hating himself for thinking that way. There was a chance, small as it was, that Harry could wake up again– Peter refused to let go of that small hope. If Norman Osborn could hold on to it, Peter could too.
