At the very start of his heroic quest to vanquish the evil within his tyrannical brother - and then vanquish his tyrannical brother - Hikari encounters a dog with fur as white as snow. It imprints on him a bit too fast to be anything other than odd, but he doesn't mind. To him, it's only a split-second decision to take a random cute canine with him; after all, how much could it possibly impact his journey?
