Summary
The year is 2000 AD. The Rokubungi Expedition has just awakened the Giant of Light and initiated a catastrophic event that will come to be known as Second Impact. The expedition’s leader, Gendo Rokubungi, uses the last of his strength to send his son Shinji to safety in an escape pod.
Trapped in a state of stasis, Shinji Rokubungi re-examines his own life and the uncertain future and comes to an unexpected conclusion: if he makes it out alive, he wants a new, better life — as a girl.
Dredged out of the ocean, the girl that was Shinji finds herself in a slightly different world than the one she was just in. The expedition in this place was led by a certain Dr. Katsuragi, and as far as anyone knows, she is the only child present in Antarctica at the time: the expedition leader’s daughter, Misato Katsuragi…
(A 99% Canon-Compliant* re-contextualization and expanding-upon of Misato's life combined with a Transfem Shinji story.)

Summary
In the year 2000 AD, the continent of Antarctica goes dark in a single, Earth-shattering explosion. This cataclysmic event - later referred to as Second Impact - ultimately claims half of the world’s population; among the casualties are Gendo and Shinji Rokubungi, both present in Antarctica at the time of its destruction.
Fifteen years later, Tokyo-3 First Municipal Junior High student Toji Suzuhara succumbs to a vicious spiral of depression. At the point of no return, a chance encounter with his strange blue-haired classmate Megumi Ayanami pulls them both from the brink and lights a spark between them; however, what he does not realize is that Ayanami is cloned from the long-gone son of Nerv’s Commander Yui Ikari, and exists for one purpose only: the completion of her own Human Instrumentality Project.
Is is possible that one mentioned only in apocrypha could free Lilith’s vessel, born of the lost Child’s blood? Or are the young boys truly as star-crossed as they seem…?
(Sidequel to The Katsuragi Paradox. Reading the prior entry is completely optional, but provides additional context.)
