Summary
Ritsuko took another sip of her champagne, and Misato was growing more convinced by the minute that she was a goddess from every mythology and every religion to have ever existed and that ever would exist all wrapped up into one person. Hell, she and Ritsuko weren’t together in any sense of the word, yet she was more than willing to cut off her arms and legs if it meant appeasing the goddess of a woman who she was monumentally lucky enough to be sitting next to. She felt blessed to even be in the same room as her, for her eyes to be graced with the presence of such a perfect specimen of everything human and everything natural. Maybe it came from her sense of inferiority next to everyone and everything, but she really did think of Ritsuko as a divine being, a celestial angel, something more perfect than any of the parables she’d heard in Catechism and at Church.

Summary
Takes place after the events of 'Fear in Itself Can be a Valuable Lesson', where Ritsuko confronts Rei about spilling the beans about the attack, and after the two get into a fight, Rei realizes just how emotions can alter how she thinks, leading her to commit actions she isn't proud of. Thankfully, Shinji is there to help her explain this in ways he can't even tell himself.
In my headcanon, the current Rei is the result of so much experimenting that she has none of Yui's DNA in her body, so she is not related to the Ikaris in any way.

Summary

She struggles over her frustrations with both the confusing events of the fight and her current sense of loneliness. Its not until a distraction pulls her out of her thoughts, and brings her attention toward the girl that caused most of these frustrations in the first place, standing out in front of the apartment building for some strange reason.

Shinji Ikari, the eighteen-year-old son of the commander of NERV Japan (Yui Ikari), has been selected to be the man assigned to the city of Tokyo-3.
