Summary
Sonic always thought that Tails was amazing— from his inventions, to his character.
He had grown up to be brave and heroic, always saving others— including himself— just like Sonic did. He could put a smile on the face of anyone, even when things seemed completely hopeless. He lit up every room he walked in, and was just generally great company to have around. He was extremely clever, too, on top of all of that.
But…
Things had changed. He had changed— and he wouldn’t tell Sonic what had happened the night that he did.
All the while, Sonic’s relationship with Shadow was starting to suffer. He was growing distant, too, and Sonic didn’t know what to do. Shadow was the first person he’d ever loved the way he loved him.
So he made a (very bad) impulse decision.
