Summary
He warns, or- attempts to at the very least, but she does not listen. This dance one they had done many times before. A tango she had once loved, had once attributed to their relationship as a peculiar bond fitting of them- but now? Now it stood as yet another shackle upon her person, this chain made of rope rather than metal- burning but ever so gentle.
She did not know how long she could handle such tender torture. One where he is both her savior and her demise. One where he holds her firm, grounding, yet suffocating all the same. One where he loves and hurts, where he gives so much but asks the impossible of her, leaving her in a debt that binds her soul. She cannot- she can no longer give in to such confusion, to such back and forth that leaves her dizzy. This man, her love, her husband, her everything. He was the father of her greatest creation, and the thief of her joy.
i.e. a final conversation between Talia and Bruce, one where only one knows it's their end

Talia had given him a wistful smile, running her hands gently, oh so gently, through his thick hair, tucking the stray strand behind his ear even if it was far too short to stay. She didn’t do it to fix his appearance, to alter it to standard, no, no she had an ulterior motive, a cruel idea of affection, of love. She wanted to love her son, how he needed. She wanted to love her son how she thought Bruce would love him, how his other children would love him, but she was Talia Al Ghul, and there was no such thing as affection in a household built on the blood of their own.
