Summary
“We only said we would give it a shot,” Eddie finally gets out, like that alone explains it. Buck wants to hold his hands, but isn't sure he’s allowed, so he tucks them under his arms.
“So you figured that was it,” he deducts. Eddie huffs, nodding again. Buck’s eyes burn.
“We knew things might be hard, in the beginning. But…” Eddie hesitates, but his thought process is clear.
“...not this hard.” Buck guesses, staring at the ceiling.
An important conversation happens one week into Buck and Eddie's relationship.

“We should also get snacks,” Buck suggests. “Chris has been wanting to try that new Coke flavour. The oreo one.”
“Ugh, no,” Eddie twists his nose, “isn’t that thing pure sugar?”
“It’s not, actually,” Buck says smartly, then rethinks. “This one, at least. It’s zero.”
“It’ll still rot your teeth, Buck,” Eddie teases, deadpan, making Buck laugh.
“That’s why they invented toothbrushes, Eddie,” he tries his best to match Eddie’s tone. He’s only half successful, but Eddie laughs anyway.
Sugar, spice and everything nice... it's time for the eight grade bake sale!
