Summary
Darius was a well loved merman, known to be one of the best hunters and quick to learn. None of this helped him the day the humans found him in his cave and captured him, leaving him to drown on the ocean floor. Trapped in the darkness, with the ocean pressure bearing down on him, he knew that soon he would die but had at least hoped it wouldn't be at the hands of the monsters down below but as something brushed against him in the darkness, all Darius could do was panic.

A witch could easily entrap them into obedient familiars with their magic, very few wild shapeshifters are left. Nhean was one such familiar, enslaved through multiple generations, he has no choice but to follow the orders of his witch. He's used to hunting down monsters but this time it's a member of his own species that he has been ordered to track.
