Summary
“Do you have anywhere else to be today?”
“No. Husker might expect me back, but he’ll be able to get drunk all on his own. Why, you have more plans to discuss?”
Vox shakes his head: “You want to stay over for dinner?”
Alastor pulls a face. “Dear, if I want a microwave meal, I can just go shoot myself in the face.”

Summary
“I suppose I should get going then. I’d say get out of your hair, but that’s not possible now, is it? Ha!”
Vox pulls a face. What a jerk.
“I can get a wig, if you’d prefer.”
Alastor blinks at him, eyes wide awake now, before he laughs. It’s not the over-performative laugh he would use on his broadcasts or in public. Vox wants to believe that that’s the laugh he uses when something genuinely made him laugh; a laugh he’d share with his friends.

“Give me the flu, more like. How long have you been feeling under the weather?”
Alastor uses a delicate claw to poke against Vox’s brightly-lit screen.
“I’m not feeling under the weather, I’m fine. If you drop the trousers I’ll show you just how well I’m feeling.”
That causes Alastor to roll his eyes so hard his whole body follows.
“Nothing but problems. My, my, if you won’t cooperate, I can just hound Husker for the week. I’m sure he’s missing me so terribly. His fur is so warm and soft at night, you know? A true delight to wake up buried face-down inside it –“
“Okay I’m feeling the worst! I’m dying!”

Vox is sick. No, he's not, he's a big strong man. Still, having Alastor take care of him is kind of nice, so maybe Vox is sick after all.Series

Summary
This morning, Alastor is surprisingly affectionate. They don’t always cuddle at night – the demon just leeches Vox’s warmth from him usually – but today Alastor is lying square on Vox’s chest, all cuddled up. Vox doesn’t mind, obliviously. Alastor’s nose is pressed against his neck and he’s rubbing his cheek against the skin he’s touching. It makes Vox not want to get up, but his alarm has already rung twice, and if he doesn’t get up soon, he’ll be late for work.

Alastor is naked when Vox wakes up and that's just rude. He's not naked anymore when Vox comes home, but maybe he likes it that way.Series

Summary
“Well, hello dear! Finally found your way stumbling home like a drunkard?”
Closing the door behind him, this is what greets him. Alastor, his – well, boyfriend, technically, probably. Partner is a better word, Vox thinks. It’s not like any courting really happened. Well, Vox brought flowers a couple times, but he’s not sure that covers all of the definition of courting. They’ve went out, but mainly to disco joints Alastor picked out, so they only played jazz. They almost kissed, and had sex in a car.

Summary
"Now, that stupid merchandise you ordered. I’ve seen Charlie have less terrible ideas; what’s your excuse?”
Vox’s face shrinks again. It’s so pathetic. Alastor should kiss him. No, stay on track.
“...I was sure I’d win. I would’ve been so cool.”
Alastor, Velvette and Valentino all roll their eyes and stay silent for a minute in solidarity with each other. Velvette reaches out her hand, palm up, and after a beat, Alastor takes it, squeezing it. Seeing as he sits in the middle, he bites the bullet and extends his own hand towards Valentino who grabs it immediately and squeezes it too.|

Summary
“Come visit me at the Tower,” Vox says, “it’s been a while.”
That’s true, but Alastor has no desire to go there. He started getting micro-aggressions when he sees a computer. Valentino had whistled when Alastor had killed one of the endless mailers, but that obviously did not fix the root issue. Velvette had applauded him just the same but did mention in the same breath that it was a bad business move. Regardless, it had been satisfying, even if the satisfaction had been short-lived.|
