Pezzy continued to avoid eye-contact, and slid off Droid's lap. “We shouldn't be doing this.”

“So, how's it going with you and Droid?” Smitty asked eventually, finally swerving the conversation to where Pezzy had wanted it to go.
“We're going steady,” Pezzy said, lifting his legs up onto the sofa and crossing them.
“Good. That's good.” There was a pause where Pezzy stared intently at the corner of the computer screen for a few seconds, until Smitty said, “I can hear a ‘but’ coming.”

Summary
It was the first time they'd had two guests on at one time. With one person, it was easy - they just had to sit between Droid and Pezzy. And so, of course, they opted to sit on each other, as one did, rather than wait for someone to get one of them an extra chair. But they made it work. And John seemed more than happy to perch on Smitty's lap, holding the microphone for the both of them.
