She was dying. Not quickly, not in her sleep, not in any of the ways that her brain used to rationalize would at least be comfortable or easy. It was slow, agonizing in the way it took her. Panic set in then, and Clementine could not bring herself to slow her quickened breathing, or the way her vision blurred and faded in and out.
