Summary
Evbo doesn't know why his mentor did it. He can't understand it. A whole layer exiled from civilization, a whole layer forgotten, a whole layer murdered, just for the Villain?
(For some reason, the Prison comes to Evbo's mind whenever he thinks of the place where the Villain had been locked up. The lava bubbled the same.)
It's ridiculous. He wouldn't have believed it, he means, the Old Man being anything but a good Champion? The idea itself was a joke, a thing of fiction.
He wishes that fiction was more absurd than reality.
The Old Man looks the same as he did before. Evbo wonders if he's dying right now, at this very instant.
(Is it bad that Evbo wishes he is?)
Or: Evbo has one last question to ask the Old Man. He doesn't get the answer he wants.

Summary
“You’re the Champion. Tell me then, where’s my family?”
They tense. His family, his home, his death. It’s always the same conversation, the same topic, the same pipeline.
Evbo told them not to tell Seawatt the truth. But EMF’s always been weak-willed.
“They’re gone.”
“What?”
“There’s no afterlife– you were dead Seawatt, wouldn’t you know the best that there’s nothing?”
He takes a step back like he can escape this truth through distance alone. His eyes are wide, frantic, frenzied.
“You’re lying,” he accuses, though the two of them know that he’s making excuses. “How’d you bring me back then? How’d you bring civilization back?”
“They’re not there, Seawatt. You won’t find them in death.”
EMF finds no satisfaction in watching Seawatt crumple, body trembling and shaking with the force of his sobs. They find only regret.
He doesn't hit their hands away when they tug his hair out of his face. He doesn't snap at them to leave when they brush back his tears. He doesn't break out of their hold when they wrap their arms around him.
Evbo will be angry at EMF for telling Seawatt the truth. They can't bring themselves to care.
Or: EMF and Seawatt hug!

Evbo doesn't- Evbo doesn't know how to be kind.
He knows how to do a 360, he knows how to be a Noob, he knows how to be a Champion, a God, but does he know how to be kind?
No. Why would he?
But he knows how to be benevolent. And if that isn't good enough, then he doesn't know what will be.
Or: Seawatt is brought back. It doesn't stick.
