The woman blinked slowly, almost owlish in nature. She took a moment to process Herta’s words before speaking. “Apologies.” Her voice was melodic in nature, but undeniably flat with the insincere apology.
Herta’s eye twitched uncontrollably. “You can’t even be bothered to try and sound convincing?” She barked out a laugh. “Do you even know who you’re speaking to!?”
A ghost of a smile twitched on the other’s face, fleeting and momentary. “Pardon me, but am I supposed to know you?”
