Summary
The Secretary of Scription, Waldhar, is taking the surviving alien Kehrli back to zir spaceship so he could continue to investigate how scription caused the Kehrli's traveling companion's death. He is bringing Lim along for the investigation, though Lim can't quite understand what role she will play. Along the way they discover that the solar system authorities are also very interested in the Kehrli. While a tense confrontation looms, Lim is surprised by a strange way that the Kehrli's touch affects her.
