Summary
It- it was the same scent. The same thing he’d followed into the city, searching, starving. Phainon stared, wide-eyed, at the small droplets of shining red blood beading on the wound. The scent, metallic and enticing, drifted towards him as he stood utterly frozen.
“I’m alright, son. Just a little scratch, no need to worry.” The man smiled. Phainon could barely hear him over the buzzing in his ears.
Phainon finds himself struggling as a freshly-turned vampire, having no idea what he is or what he's craving. He stumbles his way into Okhema, searching for shelter. Instead, he's confronted with some harsh truths about himself, and the monster he believes he's become.
This is the story of how Phainon became corrupted by the Black Tide, how he met Aglaea and Hyacine, and how he settled down into Okhema.

He gave one last desperate glance at the pile of rubble, trying to mentally calculate how much strength he’d need to move it all, and- He wouldn’t have enough. Even on a full stomach there was no way he could get them out-
Fuck. He thought, closing his eyes and leaning his head back on his hands. He was going to have to explain, wasn’t he? There’s no way he could rationally explain his behavior as anything other than the truth- and hell, maybe the truth would actually get Mydei to back off.
Just as he was actually considering the insane idea, Mydei spoke up again.
“What’s going on with you, Deliverer? You’re acting more like a caged animal than a Chrysos Heir right now.”
Phainon huffed bitterly, a mirthless smile finding its way onto his face.
“I certainly feel like one right now.” He breathed, hands clenching where they rested on the rock.
Phainon has certain vampiric needs, and Mydei is more than willing to offer his aid. First, Mydei has to pull Phainon out of his head enough to make him realize he's allowed to accept such a thing.

Summary
“It’s not safe.” Phainon said, voice strained. Even now, he remembered how divine the Chrysos Heir’s blood had tasted that night, and everything in him just wanted another bite. He fought down the hunger within him with difficulty, resisting the urge to bite at his lip to quell the ache in his teeth.
“And why is that?” Mydei asked, his voice softer as he took a step forward.
“I- I’ll hurt you.” Phainon stammered, thoroughly backed into a corner with nowhere to go. He wanted to run, to get away, to return to the safety of solitude where a monster like him couldn’t hurt anyone.
“No, I don’t believe you will.” Mydei said softly.
Phainon has a nightmare, and spirals about the possibility of his corruption growing worse and causing him to lose control. Fearing the worst, he leaves the city. Now, it's up to Mydei to find him and pick up the pieces of the Deliverer's shattered soul.

Summary
“I- can explain.” He said weakly, pulling his hand away as if to hide it. Anaxa simply hummed, letting go now that Phainon was more stable, literally speaking. He crossed his arms.
“I believe you should do so.” Anaxa said. “Particularly why you did not think to inform me before I turned on the device that would have killed you, had I not shut it off.” He growled, and Phainon suitably wilted under Anaxa’s fiery gaze.
Two days after Phainon's forced vacation, he's invited on a trip to the Grove to retrieve a research project Professor Anaxa had been working on. Only, once they get there, he realizes it's a device meant to combat the Black Tide.
What will he do when Anaxa decides to test the freshly completed device? What truths will come to light?
