Summary
He can’t take it anymore. Everything that he worked for, all for it to be for nothing at all. Why did he think Bruce would avenge him? Prove that he loves him? Why couldn’t Bruce kill the Joker? If Batman, the self-proclaimed protector of Gotham couldn’t, why couldn’t Bruce Wayne, his unofficial adoptive father do it? Bruce is the one who compartmentalizes the two identities and acts like they’re different people. If Batman couldn’t kill Joker, why can’t Bruce?
He feels something roll down his face, and that’s when Jason realizes that he’s crying. His plan didn’t work. Months, if not years of planning for an ending he fully believed in—gone. Destroyed. What was he going to do now? Kill Joker himself? Jason doesn’t know. He doesn’t know. He can’t deal with life right now, and if anything, he wishes that building killed him.
That’s when it clicks. He doesnt have to keep going. He has a way out. He just has to make it to the kitchen.
