Ben Brookes was an inherently miserable person.
Ever since he was very young, Ben had been the grumpiest boy Brooklyn had ever seen. Unlike his sister, he never smiled, he never cracked jokes, and he never wanted to socialize with other people. All he wanted to do was stay in the shadows and away from others.
