Summary
James Robespierre's childhood seemed like a dream, in the beginning. A beautiful, loving mom, a mysterious and cool detective for a dad. A happy little family, together.
But as the years moved on, the dream began to fade, and this little boy's eyes were opened to the reality around him. Mom and dad weren't in love. Not anymore, at least. Dad was never home anymore, missing his games, his birthdays, his life. Whenever he was, his mom hated his guts.
It was hard to sit through it, watch it all happen. To watch his dad drive away. But it would set him down a path towards a truth he never even knew was there, mysteries and revelations right under his nose.
Home in the rear view mirror, his life takes a turn he'd never have believed when he was little. Reunions, break-ins and new employment take hold of the path ahead of him, and he's gotta say... the accommodations are rather cushy. He could get used to this.Series

Summary
John Dillons Jr. was a man of honor. He grew up surrounded by soldiers and patriots. His father was a soldier, and his greatest inspiration. He aspired above all else to be just like him. Then, he succeeded. He went to war. He fought for his country, and he came home, hollowed out and crippled. But he's made progress, he's gotten better. And maybe, he's made a new friend. But quiet feelings and shy doubts would have to wait, as he receives devastating news, and must bid his father farewell one last time. But, in the rubble of loss, he is presented with an opportunity. New employment, medical and mechanical advances that might just allow him to grace the glory of battle once again. Who could say no to that?

Salvation shines before them through the darkness of their fear, a hand extended, an offer of kindness, of shelter, of care. They're taken far, far away from the darkness, from daddy and his hurt. They're taken in by a loving family, understood in ways they'd never known before, and shown how bright the future could truly be, the embers warming their heart.
