Summary
It’s been almost 12 years since 16-year-old Layla O'Neil was found alone on the streets and put in foster care, and she likes to think she’s done a pretty good job of forgetting the past. She doesn’t remember her birth family, the name “Nashi Dragneel,” or where she heard the absurd stories she told the police who found her. Stories about Wizard Guilds, flying cats, and (most cringey of all) her self-proclaimed status as a “Dragon Slayer.”
But the past becomes pretty impossible to ignore when it confronts her in the form of some middle-aged, pink-haired stalker who won’t stop calling her the ridiculous name she’d nearly forgotten and trying to convince her to come back to “Fairy Tale.”
Oh, and claiming to be her dad.
Like she doesn’t have enough problems! The last thing she needs is some delusional freak following her around. Especially one who’s starting to make her want to take his hand...
Yep, this is a Next Gen fic. The idea took root and would not let go.
Just Finished Part I: The Reunion Arc
Latest Chapter=Chapter 14: The Promise and the Choice
I do not own Fairy Tail, only this plotline.

Summary
Layla O’Neil—now aware that her birthname is Nashi Dragneel—is back in Earthland at long last and despite all the odds. But coming home isn't so easy as coming back.
With no memory of the fantastical childhood she once described to authorities—stories from the world everyone insists she really belongs to and which are becoming reality right before her eyes—she has little choice but to reacquaint herself with the fantastical and get good with the impossible, stat.
Her cat’s flying, her new mom's a worrywart weirdo, the cute little brother she didn't even know she had resents her guts, and a whole “guild” full of crazy freaks who act like they know her are piling on the hopes and expectations.
Oh, and then there’s the magic.
Assimilation is easier spelled...
I do not own Fairy Tail or any of the manga Layla/Nashi references to rationalize.
