“God, you’re so wriggly, like a hungry little worm. Do you need something to eat?” Stevie didn’t bother answering. There was no food in the apartment so there was nothing to feed her. It was a rhetorical question, an insult meant to make her feel pathetic and small. But Stevie longed to feel small so it missed the mark on degradation. She felt Eddie’s weight shift next to her, get off the bed for just an instant then return, but instead of settling next to her again, she kept moving on the bed.

There was no physical pleasure in this act for either of them, minus a slight change of pressure on the mound where Eddie’s legs met, but somehow it still felt incredible. Her hand twisted into Stevie’s hair, finding the back of her head, and rested there, gripping her hair thoughtlessly as the other woman’s head moved back and forth. “Face the window,” they instructed, with a wave of the hand and Stevie did as she was told, peering out of the window at the Lake below. Down there, families were packing up their folding chairs and beach blankets to head home for the day, exhausted from family fun and at least a few temper tantrums. Thank god they were on the tenth floor. A public indecency charge was probably the last thing either of them needed. Although what a headline that would make, thought Eddie.
