Summary
Damon Thalos is a 648-year-old vampire, an elder in vampire terms. He was born human in a cult town that prayed and sacrificed to the Goddess of the sea and storms. His birth was seen as a miracle; a head full of white hair was deemed a sign that the Goddess had chosen him as her vessel, and so he was raised accordingly. The sacrifice was interrupted by his older sister, Liora, when she broke him out of the village church the night before, mid-vampire transformation, with the guilty Goddess covering their tracks.
For centuries, he travelled, grieved his sister's passing, and made a name for himself with each crack of lightning from his tail. Until the day Patrick Crowe believed he could use Damon's connection to the Goddess for his own power. Over the course of the century and a half and across multiple generations of the family, they forgot his original purpose. Using him as a scare tactic and to gain power, breaking him down to be their dog, pet, and executioner.
Until a one Jex Calder freed him, helped him learn to trust touch, regain automony and learn to give and receive love too. And maybe Damon also helped save the crew from their own demons.
