Summary
CC-1010 had always known he was different from his brothers. It had started when he lagged behind while the others grew at the expected rate. Fox had worried at first this meant he was defective and would be swiftly disposed of or thrown in with the “bad batch” that looked after the garrison. But the longnecks never came and took him away from his batch and he never said anything about it in case it was a mistake.

Summary
Most of their time on Kamino was just discussion of what would be expected of Fox and, when time allowed, mediation. Fox thought it was a bit like a nap as he was required to sit on a cushion for however long his Master decided doing nothing but “feeling the Force flow through him”. At first this was just Fox sitting thinking of nothing and not really feeling anything, but after a few sessions with Master Ti he began to feel what he would come to find out was her Force signature reaching out to him. It was nice, like the warm sun on his skin, or the feeling of his brothers laying together with him in the medbay. He couldn’t seem to do anything with the presence and he wondered if he felt like anything to her when he meditated, he doubted it, he still felt like he had no control over the Force.

“I would be glad to give you a demonstration, General Skywalker.” The comment Fox made would seem innocent to most. In fact, the only one who really reacted to it was Cody. He fixed his vod’ika with a raised eyebrow that said ‘Really?’. Fox returned the look for just a moment with a sly smile that answered ‘Yes’. No one else noticed this interaction. Even if they had seen it, they wouldn’t understand.

Commander Tano tapped her chin in thought. “You’re pretty stealthy right?”
“I’ve been told so.” Fox shrugged, he scrolled through his missed comms. “Although my brothers usually say sneaky or sly.”
“Could you teach me?” Her eyes lit up.
“Teach you what?” The clone questioned as he looked up from his comm.
“How to be stealthy.” The commander explained. “You heard Master Skyguy, I can’t go on stealth missions until I get some training.”
“Wh- I- Me?” Fox stuttered in shock.

Summary
Fox was still getting used to the responsibility of being the Marshal Commander of the Coruscant Guard. Only two weeks ago he was just the commander of the public and senate patrol squads and now he had the responsibility of a whole specialty system army under his command. He also felt guilty for stealing Thorn’s position of almost two years. His ori’vod had told him that it wasn’t his fault he got demoted and that he was proud that his vod’ika was the one replacing him. Fox wanted to believe him but there was always a nagging feeling in the force when the topic came up.

Fox was having a rare good day for the first time in about six months. He’d had a brief meeting with his former master earlier that day and had come away feeling unusually refreshed. That might have had something to do with the fact that Master Ti had convinced him to sit down and rest as well as consuming a full meal. She had also indulged Fox when he made a rare request to have her tie up his hair, for old times sake. Master Ti had done a much more extravagant braid than she’d done for him when he was a padawan. The beautiful folds were accentuated by his master’s gold training cord that weaved nicely throughout the braid that rested across his shoulder.

The Corries that he passed all greeted him as he walked into the base and kindly didn’t question why he was still wearing his mask. Fox normally took off his mask or helmet around his vod’e but right now he was trying to conceal that patchwork of bruises that currently covered his face. He sent out a small prayer to the force that no one else was in the office and was pleasantly surprised. Fox knew that both Stone and Thorn would be busy until the next shift change but Thire was up in the air tonight since he was the on-call commander due to the lack of escort missions at the moment.

Fox’s comm went off for the twentieth time in as many minutes but he ignored it as he continued his patrol around the temple. He knew what the message would be either a call request or a nasty message from his former batchers. Well it wasn’t like they’d actually disowned him yet but he knew it was coming. He was only childishly avoiding the inevitable by dodging their calls. His vod’e may hate him but they weren’t rude enough to disown him via text. They had to make sure he couldn’t ignore it.

Summary
As the two approached Cody realized that he recognized the man with the grey streaks in his hair. While the grey hair was common enough in older clones or natborns the distinctive two bands on either side of the man’s forehead was unique to him since creation. If the hair wasn’t enough of a giveaway the long scar on the man’s right cheek was damning enough. This man, who really only looked around seventeen, was Cody’s old batchmate, Fox.
