It’s Spot’s POV pre‑Spot, when he’s still Dr Jonathan Ohnn, valiantly chasing intruders like a responsible scientist… until one of them weaponises a bagel. He wakes up to Miles Morales, who is allegedly a visiting student (Jon has no evidence of this but also no evidence against it).
Jon’s brain: “This is illogical.”
Jon’s heart: “I love him now.”
Miles clearly knows something about him, and Jon, being the world’s most easily smitten physicist, immediately makes the boy a promise he absolutely cannot justify with math.

It’s cheesy, it’s unoriginal and it might just be the best mistake the universe ever made.
