"Aerion. To what do we owe this displeasure?" Daeron greeted, wiping away some of the sweat gathering on his brow with his sleeve.
"Can I not welcome you to this shithole, brother? I am so glad you could finally make it here." Aerion’s gaze drifted to Daeron’s bandaged feet. He cocked an eyebrow in amusement. "I see you’ve already been made to feel right at home."
"Oh, spare me the niceties. You know they are wasted on an insensate sot like me."
Daeron has been dragged to Ashford by his father. With the dream looming over him like a large and dreadful shadow, he wishes to be anywhere else, to be anything but sober. Neither wish is granted, and it only goes downhill from there.

Baelor straightened. "Sit," he said, indicating the chair on the opposite side of the desk. He moved the wine cup to a cupboard out of Daeron’s immediate line of sight.
"Thank you." Daeron let himself sink into the chair. After a beat of silence, he spoke again. "You’ve likely already guessed that I lied about Egg’s disappearance."
It is the eve of the trial of seven, and Baelor has a headache. He is not granted relief as a few difficult conversations ensue.

Summary
Baelor felt disoriented.
He had been locked in combat with his brother, trying to prevent him from interfering with the fight between Aerion and Ser Duncan, when he was abruptly shoved forward, landing face first in the mud. He almost swallowed some of it upon impact, not having had sufficient time to break his fall properly.
Baelor’s life is saved during the trial of seven at Ashford Meadow. It comes at too high a cost.

Baelor could still see the blood coating his hands. A mere trick of the mind, again; he knew it wasn’t there anymore. It shouldn’t be. He remembered scrubbing his hands clean, red and raw, the day before. His vision had been blurred by tears, but he was sure he had got it all off in the end. Yet he could still see it. The blood. It clung to him incessantly, the image just as visceral as in the immediate aftermath of the trial.
The Targaryens are reeling from the outcome of the trial of seven.
