Warmth radiated off her body as their shoulders nearly brushed, the med student catching a glance at the chart in Cassie's hands with a furrowed brow, as if she were trying to find the source of Cassie's discomfort between the papers.
Cassie's breathing hitched. Her eye falling down to the stretch of Victoria's exposed neck, slightly damp with sweat, glistening under the fluorescents. Honing in on the way her pulse pushes against her veins, a steady rhythm that Cassie heard thunderously loud from the proximity."
