Mike could spend his nights only watching Will's chest rise and fall peacefully. The way his hair spread against the pillows. Mike was always pleased with the hums and huffs he made while out of this world.
He knew exactly when Will was dreaming or not. If he was having a nightmare or a wet dream. If he was restless or in deep sleep. When he was too cold or too hot, when the sunlight was pissing him off and when he was not fully awake but not fully asleep either.
It was an obsession, he knew. He couldn't help it.

He stops, but it's too late. Will’s breathing changes slightly and Mike sees it happen.
Sees realization begins creeping carefully across Will’s face.
Mike should stop talking. Instead, he hears himself continue quietly:
“If you came up to me looking like that, flirting with me like that— Will, if you said that to me… do you honestly think I’d stand there pretending not to— not to want you?”
Carlton makes Will feel unwanted and Mike takes that personally.
