Summary
This is a AU based off of a tweet my beta reader saw of Shane with a lip ring.
Shane Hollander is the alt kid, having burnout from being the gifted kid and finding himself in college. He made friends with a person who really saw who he is and didn't judge him for (most) choices. He got a lip ring and a tongue ring and some questionable glasses. Everything was going fine until the new Russian student showed up. Now Shane has to learn how to control himself.
Ilya is the social outcast, running away from Russia to get away from his family. Going to Montreal to start anew. Just to find himself unable to escape from his past and unable to let go of who he once was. In comes the freckled man with the beautiful chocolate brown eyes.
Or: Shane and Ilya are in uni and meet each other. Shane has piercings and an alternative style. Ilya is trying to hide who he is, but it's not working. Read about them falling in love over a mutual understanding of what it means to be an "other". Follow them through till graduation.

Shane and Ilya had not talked since before Rose, after he freaked out about the tuna melts. Now they were at the All Stars together, met on the beach and were supposed to meet each other like old times. It was supposed to be a nice reunion. Ilya was waiting patiently, or rather impatiently, knowing that this would be a chance he could steal away a moment with him.
Except Shane didn't show up. He freaked out again and he didn't text Ilya until last second. A year and a half passed and now Shane is dating Kelsey Langman, a basketball player. He meets Ilya at the club again and shit is stirred up.
