Summary
Ever since he ran away from home, since the death of the Red Queen (curse her name and may the Great Ones Above never grace her presence in Vanaheim), Hiccup has never killed. Even as he took up the (horribly named) mantle of The Dragon Master, he refused to end another life.
But no matter how hard one tries, there comes a point when a person is backed into a corner and that isn’t a choice to be made. When the difference between life- and therefore the life of His Other Half and his flock- or death is whether or not he can stand to kill, Hiccup is forced to end a life.
What he did not account for, in his careful, painstaking decision to take the life of a rogue hunter, was whether or not the boat was empty. No other hunters came for his throat when he landed, so he naturally assumed none were to be found.
But as Hiccup spots a pair of toxic green and icy blue eyes peering at him from the cabin, belonging to a too-small body, he realizes his mistake.
Or~
After being forced to kill a dragon hunter, for the very first time, Hiccup realizes that they had a child. Fuck.
