Ryland has to hype himself up for it, he sounds insane he's sure of it. Regardless he says, "I think I saw Court, he was following me through a Whole Foods."
And, for what it's worth, Colt doesn't laugh at the obscenity of his statement, or tell him that he's really truly lost it. "That's impossible, Ry. For one, I'm certain you're not a medium. You would've told me when we lived in that place with the cemetery right down the street. And for two, there's no way you can afford to go to Whole Foods on your salary."

It's strange how easily he'd taken to calling the place home. In Colt's mind, he thought the only home he'd ever have was one littered with empty beer bottles, hushed laughter, and cleaning up wounds on quite nights. It's hard to shift his mental schema of what home is. There's so much warmth in his and Ryland's apartment, it's nothing like the house they grew up in— where all the warmth was carefully and quietly manufactured in a way that would fly under the radar. Colt's unabashedly happy here, it's a painful realization.

Colt looks ridiculous in Ryland's clothes. It's kind of strange because arguably they look the same, but Colt stands tall in a way that makes his cat t-shirt seem off. "This is never going to work," Ryland says, halfway through the walk to school. "We're going to get caught and we'll be in so much trouble."
"Calm down." Colt bumps into his shoulder lightly. "We're not going to get caught." He says it with so much certainty that Ryland has no choice but to believe him.or; young Ryland and Colt switch places for the day, Courtland is suspicious about the whole thing

Summary
Driver's fangs ache with want, he's not even that hungry but it feels like he's starving. He stares at Colt with poorly concealed need as he worries his bottom lip between his teeth. There's something quiet in the back of his mind telling him that if he does this he's never going to recover from it no matter how long or hard he repents. A much louder force screams at him to finally taste the warmth he had been coveting. He's a weak man.
He's even weaker when Colt gently says, "it's okay, Casey," before guiding Driver's head to his neck. It's overwhelming, he can feel tears spring to his eyes. "You're okay. I trust you." Colt pets his hair with such reverence that Driver thinks he's going to be sick.or; Vampire!Driver gets obsessed with Colt while working a stunt job with him, then his vampirism comes to light.

"What do you mean?" He grabs his brothers by his shoulders, looking into his extremely dilated pupils. "Did you take a pill from a stranger?"
Ryland smiles in a sneaky way, the same way he used to when they were kids and Court would find him in the middle of an experiment that involved blowing something up. "Just one."or; a very tired Courtland Gentry plays campus security and walks a very inebriated Ryland Grace home

Colt's not paying attention, too busy thinking about how to convince Casey to let him drive for a change when he loses his balance and falls face first off the short ledge he'd been standing on. It's not too bad, if anything he’s glad no one is around to see it.

"He's going to prison," Colt says sternly in the direction of his twin, uncaring of how Ryland sinks into himself slightly at the words. "They're going to get you for as much as they can— because they can, because that's who they are. Nothing's okay, Court. This small talk is pointless, I'm losing my brother."
Court doesn't point out that he's losing his brothers too, that he's lost the rest of his life, as much as he wants to. Colt needs this, he understands that. If this is the last thing he can do for him, he'll give him that. "I'm sorry." He finds that he truly is, not for any of his actions—he would have killed their father a million times over if it meant that Ryland got to be safe— but for leaving them, even if it's out of his hands at this point.or; Court, Ryland, and Colt have one last conversation before Court's sentencing
