Summary
As his eyes wandered out the second-floor window that looked out onto the green, they caught on a group of boys roughhousing and laughing under the largest sycamore tree. They were being loud enough that Shane could nearly make out what they were squawking about, but mostly he picked up on a voice with a different cadence than the rest. He couldn’t quite place the accent, but his eyes searched for the boy it belonged to. He wasn’t hard to spot, one of the tallest in their crew with his sun-kissed sinewy limbs and golden curls that caught the sunlight. Shane watched as the fabric of his t-shirt bunched and strained against his broad shoulders, how he jumped quickly away from his pinned opponent and threw his head back in laughter, and Shane imagined he could see his Adam’s apple bobbing and he wondered what it would feel like under his fingers…
