Serious regrets linger after Effigie witnesses how much Astarion has changed following his ascendance. He barely resembles the man they had met so many months ago. Nothing like the kindred monster they had grown to care for, to love. The vampire lord has taken page after page out of Cazador’s playbook, and his reluctant consort has begun to wonder whether anything can be done to alter this fate, whether choices could be revised.
