Summary
Ludwig hasn't slept for three days again, saving a severely wounded scout. Jane silently watches as his second-in-command staggers from exhaustion but keeps on stitching wounds. When the scout is finally stable, the soldier silently takes the medic to his room and has no intention of letting him go. That's when the confessions come out

Summary
Augustus shouted at Jane in front of everyone: "Your plan is suicide for everyone except your ego!" — and led the squad into the attack on his own. They were cut down; three were wounded. Jane didn't say a word to him then, but when Augustus came out of the infirmary, exhausted, Jane was already waiting for him, beckoning him over.
