As a princess, Mai was used to being watched over. She'd had guards watching her every move for as long as she could remember and had gotten so used to it she often forgot they were there. But there was something about Azula's watchful gaze that unsettled her, something that made her impossible to ignore.
Role reversal AU with Mai as the daughter of the Fire Lord and Azula as the daughter of his ambitious advisor, assigned to guard the princess. As tension grows, Mai finds herself unable to tell whether her new bodyguard is watching over her, or waiting for the perfect moment to turn on her.
