Summary
She cracked a smile as Ruthye entered. Clark’s plain black shirt hung baggily off of her frame and bottoms of her checkered blue pajama pants dragged along the floor with each step, and she scowled at Kara when she saw her face.
“Do not laugh. Obviously the clothes do not fit, as they belong to a man with a much larger frame than I.”
“I’m not laughing,” she lied. “Come here.”
Kara’s first impressions of Earth drove her to abandon it. Now, coming back with Ruthye in tow, she does everything in her power to make sure Ruthye’s first experience will be better than her own.

“Bugs do not frighten me,” Ruthye declared. “Truly, I believe you are being extreme. On my planet, I am in the sun with no protection and deal with plenty of pests without any repellent. Daily.”
“Yeah, well, we’re not on your planet.” She rubbed the last of the sunscreen into the skin on Ruthye’s cheeks and popped the cap onto the tube with a nod, satisfied with her work. “A yellow sun’s hotter, anyway, and we don’t know how the bugs or sicknesses on this planet compare to the ones on yours. You can’t just fly into solar radiation and feel all better. It’s called a precaution.”
“It’s called being overbearing,” Ruthye muttered.
Kara and Ruthye go camping.
