Description:

The Seven (plus Emma) live on the fourth floor of an apartment building. Josh is the newest addition, but he’s very quickly becoming a part of their ragtag family.

Stay tuned for found family shenanigans, some will-they-or-won’t they antics, classic sitcom tropes subverted, deconstructed, and played gloriously straight, earnest lessons about the power of friendship, and actually some really sad parts, because between them there are enough dark pasts to make a black hole.

In other words, it’s a sitcom, guys.

Notes:

- This will be a nine episode series gleefully playing with sitcom tropes.

- There will also be angst in the series proper. We're dealing with Serious Issues every once in a while, and all the characters *have* Serious Issues, and there are lots of Emotional Moments. It's all very earnest and heartfelt, I'm playing that completely straight.

- Updates will be extremely sporadic.

- The fics are about as standalone as sitcom episodes are, as in, no matter what you start with you’ll pretty much know what’s going on, even if there’s sort of a timeline. Some are less standalone than others, but, again, if you can tune into a sitcom and pretty much follow what’s going on, you’re good. You can skip around and/or pick and choose fics. Really, the only one I'd actually suggest reading for context is "Concentrated Chaos".

- Episodes will probably be around 6,000 words, but they can go higher and also get as low as 4,000+, depending.

OTHER BASIC INFO:

- Pairings:

Billy/Goodnight, established.

Vasquez/Josh, mild will they or won’t they

Emma/Matthew, past

It’s mostly Ensemble Gen.

WARNINGS:

This series deals with what the ~industry~ calls 'thematic elements'. These thematic elements include:

- mental health issues (a lot of them, as in the film and also in how I portray characters as they are in modern life)
- Josh is an alcoholic let's be real

- grief (also a lot of it, since you will note that Jack and Sam's families are not alive in this series, and neither is Matthew, and Vasquez's backstory also involves this and is quite dark)

- there are mentions of violence, including cartel/drug related, police related, and political violence

- there are mentions of murder (some characters have pasts marred by it, just like in the film)

Also, since this is, in fact, a sitcom, as much as a non-visual, non-scripted medium can be a sitcom, it never goes Full Dark.
