It’s not like Samira expected otherwise, but she can’t help but focus on how there’s only one bed.
“I requested a cot before we came up here,” Jack mentions offhandedly, almost as though he read her mind.
Jack can’t sleep on a cot because of her, but she’s not all that keen to sleep on one either. There’s only one solution to this problem, one that Samira isn’t quite sure she can handle. She throws caution to the wind and suggests it anyway.
“Why don’t we just share the bed?"
Or, Jack and Samira attend a conference together, and there's only one bed. It's a good job there are no unspoken feelings to worry about.

Summary
Frankly, she’s terrified of how today might go, especially now as they’re pulling into park on his parents' drive. The fear only worsens as they make their way up the front path, her heart in her throat as Jack brings his hand up to knock. She’s wildly unprepared.
As if sensing her internal panic, Jack brings their interlocked fingers up to his mouth to press a reassuring kiss to the back of her hand. It calms her for all of two seconds before the door swings open and her heart rate skyrockets again.
Or, now that Samira's settled into being an attending, it's time to meet Jack's family.
