Summary
It was Ruth who was his fixation, his obsession, and his constant preoccupation.
Elliot didn’t know when he had become enamoured with their mage. He had long acknowledged his existence, thinking him a lazy and unkempt presence at Sir Riftan's side. However, three years spent in the Lexos Mountains had greatly swayed his opinion of Ruth. Somewhere along that journey of combing the mountains for the dragon, he had seen firsthand how dedicated, hardworking and extremely capable the mage actually was.
Only it wasn’t just those qualities he admired. To Elliot, he fast became the most beautiful sight in that perilous, barren place. With hair like starlight and a piercing gaze, it was hard not to fantasize about him, just as he now did as he followed him through the castle courtyard.
*Elliot’s and Ruth’s story follows Book 1 in its entirety, told in their alternating points of view, and expands on the events of Book 1. It is canon compliant.
Complete, though in the process of revision of early chapters as of July 2026.Series
