Summary
Yesterday, on a hunting job so simple that Nero had deluded himself that his father joined simply to spend time with him, he heard Vergil grumble to the defeated demon: “You are nothing but dirt beneath my boots”. It was so cliche, and so Vergil. And worst of all, Nero’s brain instantly brought up a scenario of his father saying that to him, of berating him and belittling him and then his hand digging into Nero’s throat--
-- So yeah. Nero knows he’s fucked.

Summary
“Restrain yourself,” his father says without the appropriate reproach, “You’re not an animal.”
Momentary confusion leads to the next revelation: he had nuzzled into the skin. Nero didn’t realize he had.
“It is good your instincts are guiding you to heal. However, offering blood from my wrist when we get seated will be much more convenient, Nero.”
It takes him a few seconds to process Vergil’s verbose assertion. Oh. Father thought he wanted to drink blood from his neck. That does sound nice, too. He had other reasons to bite, though…
‘Fuck,’ Nero thinks through the delirium, ‘this is gonna end so badly’.

Summary
‘Maybe he realized already’, the sick hope tells him in his own voice, ‘he realized and he’s allowing it because he wants it. Because he loves you like you love him.’
And that’s the crux of it, Nero knows; beyond the desire, sex and shame, he is a lonely boy who wants his father to want him exactly how he wants him to. It’s something he had understood about himself long ago. There are days where he feels empty, for the lack of a better word. Like he was born alone in a barren room devoid of people, and he’s been chasing them ever since.

Summary
Nero bit back a giggle when Vergil started folding the vest. So proper, always. His father’s eyes zeroed in on his lip, and Nero worried it between his teeth just to watch the man’s face grow more focused.
“Minx,” Vergil accused, voice quiet and so goddamn fond that Nero’s breath stuttered. It should be evident by now that Vergil wants this, wants him, yet any evidence of it still makes Nero swoon.

Summary
Yet, in the growing darkness of his room, resting in disarming warmth and worn out by their rather eager coupling, Vergil can admit to the fear that constricts him. Since he was that little child, grasping the sword too large for him as the lifeline it was, fear followed his every waking moment to the point that he thought himself fearless, for he forgot to acknowledge it. How could he, when he didn’t know its absence anymore? Even his memories of the soft before were tainted.
(How could Vergil find solace in recalling his father, when the man left them to this twisted fate?)

Summary
“Fuck,” Nero moaned out as Vergil let his lips brush against his pulse. ‘So filthy’, he thought with excitement. Nero’s hands crawled up Vergil’s sides, wrinkling the sweater vest as his fingers gripped the fabric. Their groins pressed against each other, bodies heating up. Nero’s cock stirred inside his boxers. His father only continued abusing his neck, kissing with escalating severity until teeth were dragging against his throat with a bruising strength--
The door to Devil May Cry banged open.
