Summary
Simon “Ghost” Riley comes home to Manchester after a career-ending injury with nothing but a bad back, a worse attitude, and no particular interest in getting better. Then his care team sends him John “Soap” MacTavish, massage therapist/physical therapy assistant from Glasgow who is relentlessly competent, impossible to intimidate, and completely unbothered by Simon’s attempts to get rid of him. Soap shows up anyway. Every time. Until, without quite meaning to, Simon starts looking forward to it.

Summary
After a joint operation abroad leaves them briefly stateside, Price and Ghost get conscripted into a charity auction by a their favorite CIA liaison, Kate Laswell. Soap and Gaz, smelling blood in the water, drain the outfit’s discretionary fund, technically for charity, and attempt to outbid every civilian in the room.
--
“Imagine the possibilities, Lt. Ah could make ye beg in public. Could have ye in nice handcuffs, under the table, all subtle-like.”
“You know, the whole car can hear you.” Gaz’s eyes bugged.
“Aye, and proud. Could even make him wear a collar, if Ah felt like it.” Johnny bared his teeth.
“You’re not getting away with that, Soap.” Price snorted.
But Soap leaned in, and whispered, “He’d fuckin’ love it.”

Summary
The final generation of the Pave Low has arrived at LHS 1140b. It is not what they were promised. Something is already there, and it is already watching. An interspecies romance will determine whether humanity gets to keep going or quietly stops.
--
Really, it didn’t matter how many generations it took to reach the planet designated LHS 1140b. The only ones that mattered were that first generation of space pilgrims and the last remaining generation of hearty frontier explorers. All the ones in the middle, cannon fodder. Unmentionables in the span of human history. Sad that.
