Summary
The thing is huge. Hairy. It twitches with every drop of water that falls from the shower head. Gangly legs bend in every wrong angle as it attempts to climb up slippery plastic.
The spider in your bathtub fascinates you beyond measure.
It lunges halfway up the tub and slides back down.
You don’t get to see it slide back down because you fled the second it jumped.

Summary
Your bottom lip disappears between your teeth. When you speak, your voice is small and timid. “I walked into a spiderweb.”
Vicious laughter follows your words. “No fear for us monsters, but you panic at the mere touch of a tiny little insect?”
The pursing of your lips is the only warning Harlequin gets before you yank against his hands. “You know what,” you spit when you can’t break free, “I’m fine now.”

Summary
It’s nothing special — just a cheap folding table bought from the camping section of a department store. Paper flyers are stacked neatly on its white plastic surface, two rows deep. Looking closer reveals ink bleeding across the stacks– no, not ink.
Hundreds of tiny black bodies scurry over every inch of the table. Baby spiders. There must have been an egg sac hidden somewhere among the metal supports of the table. An attempt at closer inspection results in you grabbing his shoulders and yanking backwards. Your strength does little more than annoy him; his irritated glance conveys his question: What do you think you’re doing?
“Don’t...” your voice comes out with a weak tremor. “Don’t get too close,” you whisper. “What if they’re poisonous?”

Summary
You're given freedom to come and go, so long as you visit again. Five days without even a single word is far too much. His beak still burns with the memory of the kiss you planted there before you left, a raging inferno that burrows deep into his core. That you've made no move to quell it should be an insult to him, yet all he does is yearn for the fire of your touch.

Summary
Most of the people that entered his tent today have come out gasping, sobbing, or rushing for a place to vomit. The ones that have yet to exit might get a chance later, once the frustrations of the day have finally drained from the Ticket Taker — something that will hasten as soon as he lays eyes upon you.
Not that you’ve been around today.
