Summary
"The drum majors are great," Zoey reiterated, "it's just–not for me. I'm here for a good time, y'know?"
Whatever weirdness was going on in Mira's voice did not translate to the look she shot Zoey–she grinned as Zoey sputtered.
"Here for a good time, huh?"
Zoey sputtered. "I mean–c'mon, you know what I meant–quit messing with me!"
"Oh, is that what you want?" Mira turned to face her fully, propping her elbows on her rifle. Zoey's brain became cacophony of cymbal crashes and not much else. "You want me to leave you alone, Zoey?"
And oh, her name in Mira's mouth was–
Wow.

Summary
"We–we shouldn't be doing this."
Ironic, that; Rumi, drum major of the Hunters Drum and Bugle Corps, the leader–she should be the one arguing on behalf of common sense. If they were caught like this, the consequences would be dire: the drum major and a section leader, in a secret rendezvous in the locker room?
They'd be lucky if all they got was demoted from their leadership positions.
And yet–
And yet.

Summary
It wasn't supposed to be like this–it didn't have to be like this–but standing there in the doorway of the living room, Zoey didn't know what the fuck she was supposed to do at a house party where Rumi wasn't just a ghost haunting her fucking phone.
Because ten months after their break-up, Zoey was pretty much over her.
Right?

Zoey gets over Rumi the best way she knows how.

Summary
Once upon a time, Mira had good sense.
She might have used up all her know better over the past eight weeks, though, because the sound that Zoey made against her mouth–the feel of her writhing against Mira's stomach when Mira pinned her to the wall of the equipment truck, well–
It made Mira feel pretty fucking reckless.
