Summary
When Death came to guide him, he clung to her every word, for she was a shepherd and he was the sheep.
“It is not your time yet, young man”, she had said, and Alyosha relented. For Death is ever knowing and absolute; mere mortals such as himself had no right to ponder on whether her judgement was just.
“Go back and make yourself useful. Live and die how the Gods see fit.”
And so, Alyosha did just that.
