In the dimness, Pony’s expression shifts from the hurt that it had held a few seconds ago. He looks almost reflective, as if sorting through years of memories to find a contradiction. After a moment, he sighs. “Never.”

Soda's been acting strange all month, leaving for work early and coming back long after dark. Pony's convinced that his brother's upset with him for accepting that offer at the University of Oklahoma.
The car that Soda and Steve are secretly repairing in the DX garage says otherwise.
