Summary
In an alternate universe, Will Byers never went to the Upside Down. He never grew up in Hawkins. And he was never childhood friends with Mike Wheeler.
One night at a club, he meets Mike with his nerdy glasses and interesting stare and they connect. Sparks fly. Butterflies swoop. Will has never felt this attracted to anyone.

Summary
Following the events of season 5, Will Byers discovers a dark truth to their apparent victory over the Mind Flayer. Discovers why so many people, including Mike Wheeler, seem unable to leave Hawkins. Seem unable to break free from their conformed state. But in a confrontation with the boy who is most definitely not the Mike he knows, Will falls off the quarry and lands in an alternate universe where he sees flashes of a different Will Byers' memories. This Will Byers never went to the Upside Down, was never possessed by the Mind Flayer. This Will Byers has different psychic powers and a 13 tattooed in the same spot Jane had an 11. This Will Byers not only is aware of the quarry's portal but has gone through it many times with his boyfriend, Mike Wheeler. And they could be exactly who Will needs to save his universe from complete conformity.
